Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Orissa as Steamship (period Unassigned)-(1918). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 1m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.
The *Orissa* was a steamship built in 1918, later identified as a collier. It sank in 1937 off the coast of Ayrshire, Scotland, after colliding with the *Clydebank* in thick fog. The collision resulted in the loss of 13 lives, with the vessel and its cargo of coal submerged. The wreck remains a significant local maritime heritage site.
