This building served as a club endowed in 1942 by Her Majesty Queen Wilhelmina of the Netherlands for Dutchmen having escaped from their occupied country to join the Allied Forces.
Oranjehaven was established in 1942 by Queen Wilhelmina of the Netherlands to provide a social and cultural refuge for Dutch refugees who had fled Nazi-occupied Holland to join the Allied Forces. It remains an important symbol of Dutch resilience and loyalty during World War II.
