What is recorded here
1798 commemorative High Cross is a memorial in County Wexford, Ireland. Perhaps the stone stayed silent through decades of forgetting until people remembered the patriots of '98 and gave them a visible shape. Maybe the cross still stands where grass grows thick and rain washes the carved words, keeping the promise made in 1878.
