Ogham stone (present location) in Ardocheasty

This ogham stone, which was built into the E wall of St Declan’s Oratory (see WA040-008005-), was removed c. 1855 (FitzGerald 1854-5) and is now displayed in the chancel of the cathedral. It has two inscriptions which have been read by Macalister (1945, vol. 1, 257-8) as: 1. LUGUDECCAS MAQI [...MU]COI NETA-SEGAMONAS and 2. DOLATI BIGA-ISGOB [... . A second ogham stone (WA040-008006-) was found built into a low wall in the cathedral and is now in the National Museum of Ireland (DU018-248----). A third stone (WA040-008007-) was found beside a grave and it is now also displayed in the chancel of the cathedral.
