What is recorded here

Kilcoolaght East holds seven or eight Ogham stones inside iron railings erected in the 1940s, preserving names carved before written records reached that corner of Kerry. One fragment resists identification, while another bears a reading Macalister recorded as URG. A lost church may have stood nearby, its shape erased from the ground but kept alive in local memory.

National Monument No. 329. One of 7, or possibly 8, ogham stones at Kilcoolaght Burial Ground/Cill Chuallachta (KE065-003001-), inside Iron railings erected in the 1940s. Brash also recorded a tradition that a church (KE065-003003-) formerly stood on a rectangular area of untilled ground ‘a few yards from the cilleen'. No trace of this church is now apparent.' This fragment cannot be located. Macalister (1945, 205, no. 213) read it as: URG.
