Kilcoolaght holds seven or eight ogham stones within iron railings, preserving a buried church and a world of names now reduced to fragments. The damaged stone lies prostrate, its top spalled away, yet the surviving angle still carries a finely cut mark that resists final reading. It is not a complete sentence but a broken edge of memory, waiting for someone patient enough to hear the shape beneath the loss.

National Monument No. 329. One of 7, or possibly 8, ogham stones at Kilcoolaght Burial Ground/Cill Chuallachta (KE065-003001-), inside Iron railings erected in the 1940s. Brash also recorded a tradition that a church (KE065-003003-) formerly stood on a rectangular area of untilled ground ‘a few yards from the cilleen'. No trace of this church is now apparent.' This damaged stone, now prostrate, measures .73m x .13m x .12m. Its finely cut inscription was carved along two angles and across its top, where a portion has been spalled off. Macalister (1945, 202, no. 207) read it as: . . .]ECC MAQI L[UGUQ]RRIT and suggested RITTUVVECC for the initial name.
