Kilcoolaght Burial Ground in County Kerry holds seven or eight ogham stones inside iron railings erected in the 1940s. One broken stone lies there now, preserving part of an inscription that once stood taller than it does today. A local story says a church stood nearby on untilted ground, though no trace remains. The place keeps naming death, remembering ancestry, and withholding the rest from easy certainty.
National Monument No. 329. One of 7, or possibly 8, ogham stones at Kilcoolaght Burial Ground/Cill Chuallachta (KE065-003001-), inside Iron railings erected in the 1940s. Brash also recorded a tradition that a church (KE065-003003-) formerly stood on a rectangular area of untilled ground ‘a few yards from the cilleen'. No trace of this church is now apparent.'
O'Sullivan and Sheehan (1996, no. 950) recorded this stone as standing '.74m high and measures .24m x .18m at base. A portion of the neatly scored inscription occurs beneath present ground level'. Macalister (1945, 203, no. 209) read it as: . . ]GGO MAQI AGILL[. . . The stone is now broken before the final -LL and lying in the enclosure. (O'Sullivan and Sheehan 1996, no. 950)
