Detached four-bay three-storey over half-basement with dormer attic naval office, built 1822, with lower two-bay two-storey flanking blocks having single-bay single-storey flat-roofed porches to front (east) elevations. Breakfront to south elevation of south flanking block. Skirt slate roof with segmental-headed dormer windows, render eaves course and rendered chimneystacks. Flat roofs to flanking blocks and porches with render cornices. Ashlar limestone walls with platband dividing ground and first floors. Rendered walls to first floor of flanking blocks and to south and rear (west) elevations. to south elevation of south flanking block. Rendered walls to porches. Square-headed openings to upper floors with replacement windows and cut stone sills. Round-headed openings to first floor, set within round-headed recessed and having replacement uPVC windows. Round-headed openings to porches with fixed pane windows and render surrounds and impost courses. Round-headed openings to porches with replacement timber panelled doors and fanlights, render surrounds and impost courses. Approached by cut limestone steps. Cast-iron railings to area.

Adding significantly to architectural heritage of Haulbowline Island, this building displays many features of merit. Well executed stonework and attention to detail in evidence, as is conscious design. Shares many features with other classically influenced buildings on the island, such as round-headed dormer windows, round-headed openings in recesses to ground floor, platbands and cornices. Flat-roofed porches add to the symmetrical appearance and enhance the design.
