What is recorded here

In pasture, appears to be located on a natural rise, with rising ground immediately to N. Ground falls into a natural dip to S then rises again to an E–W ridge. Not indicated on the 1838 OS 6-inch map; shown on the 1919 edition as a D-shaped hachured area, bordered on the straight N side by the townland boundary. Raised D-shaped area (c. 15-20m E–W; 16m N–S to wall) with a flat top (c. 10m E–W), defined on the curving side S half by broadly sloping sides, and bordered on the straight side to N by an E−W field wall. There is no indication of a continuation of the feature immediately to N of the field wall, where there is a rising slope. Compiled by: Jane O’Shaughnessy Date of upload: 4 June 2021
