What is recorded here

Northern Gortnatraw South Stone Ringfort is a ruined oval cashel on a western Donegal slope, its broken wall still marking a space twenty-seven metres long. People may have lived there before becoming a fairy fort in local memory, but the stones do not say which claim is true. The heather hides the junction between human and mythical time, leaving the fort both ordinary and unresolved.

Internal diam. c. 27m N-S, c. 20m E-W. An oval area enclosed by 'a ruined stone wall originally c. 1.5m in width. The site is located on a W- facing heather-covered mountain slope.
