Gortnatraw South Stone-and-Earth Ringfort

Internal diam. 25m E-W, 27m N-S. A subcircular area bounded by a bank composed of a jumbled mass of large and small stones and earth, and about 1m in height, is the result of modern drainage work but is presumed to conceal a cashel walk. Outside on the E is a modern drain. There is a dense but shallow scatter of loose stone in the interior, probably from the collapse of a wall. Sited in pasture land on gently sloping ground overlooking Mulroy Bay to the W. The above description was derived from the 'Archaeological Survey of County Donegal.
