North Cliff is a sea cliff composed primarily of Chalk from the Cretaceous period, around 100 to 66 million years old. It formed through the erosion of soft chalk by wave action and weathering, and is notable as part of the coastal landscape of Thanet, which exposes geological layers from the South East England Chalk Group.
