Needs Ore Point is a coastal headland composed primarily of Cretaceous-age Chalk, formed from the accumulation of marine microfossils over 70 to 100 million years ago. It is notable as part of the extensive chalk coastline of southern England, which is prone to erosion and reveals important geological and paleontological features.
