Mull, Duart Castle

Duart Castle on Mull was built by the MacDougall clan in the 13th century and later held by the Macleans from the 15th century. It is important as a historic stronghold associated with the powerful Maclean lords of the Isles and for its strategic location overlooking the Sound of Mull.
