What is recorded here

Mounds is a lost boundary marker on Carrignabinnia Mountain, recorded in the 1890s but no longer visible in satellite images. It stood between Baunteen and Carrigeen Mountain, near two surviving cairns, marking a line people once recognised in open pasture. The mound has disappeared from the ground, leaving only the names and the empty space where it joined the hill.

In rough pasture, on Carrignabinnia Mountain, on the townland boundaries between Baunteen and Carrigeen Mountain. Boundary cairns (LI050-023002-/003-) lie 50m to the NE and 70m to the E, respectively. Not marked on the 1840 ed. OSi 6-inch map. Annotated ‘Mound’ on the 1897 ed. OSi 25-inch map.
