'Chambered Mound. Located 30m to the west of chambers 1 to 3 (KE068-169001- to KE068-169003-), and 10 m to the north of chamber 4 (KE068-169004-), this subrectangular mound, which measures 10m east-west by 8m north-south, which is 1.4m in height. It is now covered in a growth of grass and shallow peat. A drystone walled entrance occurs at east. 0.7m wide and 0.5m high. Two side chambers lead off this: the southern chamber is 1.3m long, the northern chamber is 1.8m long, but is partially blocked with limestone slabs. The height and width of the side chambers is similar to the entrance feature, and both are constructed of a mixture of drystone walling and slabs. It is unclear if the entrance actually leads into the body of the mound. A second possible entrance was noted in the southwest corner of the mound, opening to the south. Here a small chamber 0.7m wide, 0.4m high appeared to allow access to the body of the mound. This chamber/entrance appear to be 1m deep, but may be blocked by collapse. Traces of drystone walling, possibly functioning as a retaining kerb were noted on the western and northern sides of the mound, while several small holes on the top of the site may indicate voids underneath.'
The above description was published in F. Coyne, 'Islands in the clouds: an upland archaeological study on Mount Brandon and the Paps, Co. Kerry.' (Kerry Co. Council in association with Aegis Archaeology, 2006).

Chambered Neolithic tomb, likely dating to the 4th to 3rd millennium BCE; its proximity to other known chambers suggests it is part of a significant early farming settlement or ritual landscape in the Shrone More area.
