Mound in Gortnagane

In a cashel (KE068-022001-) named 'Cathair Craobh Dearg' and known locally as 'The City'. A distinctive centrally-placed mound slopes up gradually from the perimeter of the cashel to form a rounded top. Stones of various sizes, both embedded and loose, occur on the surface. This area may have been disturbed by nearby 19th- and 20th- century buildings, which still exist, and their associated activities.
