Mound in Garranlahan More

Mound

What is recorded here

Situated at the crest of the N-facing slope of broad plateau and just E of the present Roman Catholic church. The older Roman Catholic church of Garranlahan (RO032-015001-) was within a sub-triangular graveyard (RO032-015002-). While a cairn was evident in the modern graveyard (Gannon 1972), it was probably cairn material from the chapel and has since been removed. Compiled by: Michael Moore Date of upload: 24 August 2010
A Neolithic passage tomb; its location on a prominent slope suggests ritual or ceremonial significance in the prehistoric landscape.

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
