What is recorded here

Half a metre of earth and stone, no more, yet the pasture leans around it as if listening. The cross-inscribed stone sits embedded in the top, waiting for a name the bishop never gave. People call it a grave because graves need witness, and the marsh below still holds its breath.

In rough pasture, on NNE-facing slope, above marshy ground. Earth and stone mound (H 0.5m; 2.5m E-W; 3m N-S), known locally as 'Bishop's Grave'; cross-inscribed stone (CO142-087001-) embedded in top.
