What is recorded here

Four stone piers still stand along the Inis Mór road, but the westernmost belongs to Patk O Donnell and his wife. Their names appear beside 1848 and 1863, while an IHS cross rises above the mortared pier. The dates mark more than death; they suggest a family holding onto identity, faith and memory on a remote island where forgetting comes easily.

On N side of road between Cill Rónáin and Eochaill, Inis Mór. The most westerly of a group of four leachtanna cuimhne (see also GA110-009001-, GA110-009002-, GA110-009003-). A rectangular mortared pier (L 1.25m, Wth 1.2m, H 2.6m) surmounted by a cross bearing the letters IHS. The SW face contains two plaques commemorating 'Patk O Donnell' and 'his wife', dated 1848(9?) and 1863.
