What is recorded here

On opposite side of road, c. 17m W of GA111-021002-. A square mortared pier (L/Wth 0.82, H 2.2m) surmounted by a cross bearing the letters IHS. The N face contains three plaques: the top one, commemorating 'Peter Gill' and dated 1892, is clearly a later insertion above the others which commemorate 'Hugh Gill', dated 1840.
