Gateway, extant 1840, on a symmetrical plan comprising pair of lichen-spotted cut-granite monolithic piers with capping now missing. Road fronted at entrance to grounds of Monksgrange House.
A gateway forming part of a self-contained group alongside a Georgian Gothic gate lodge (see 15701802) with the resulting ensemble making a pleasing visual statement in a sylvan street scene at the entrance on to the grounds of the Monksgrange House estate.
