What is recorded here

Half a kilometre north of the main road, a low earthen bank circles a space only thirteen metres across on the crest of Horse Hill. Gaps face east and west like doorways, and trees now grow through the rim, softening the edge of what may have been a small fortified house or a boundary marker for pasture. The view stretches far in every direction, which suggests the place mattered more than its size. Whether people lived there or only watched the land from it, the fort still holds its shape against the sky.

Internal diam. 13m. A subcircular area enclosed by an earthen bank probably scraped up from the hillside. Gaps to the E and W could have been entrances. The bank is planted with trees.
