What is recorded here
The National Monuments Record of Wales records Moderator as Wreck from the Ôl-ganoloesol period. The saved point comes from the official national record. Inclusion does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.
The *Moderator* was a 19th-century British steamship that sank in 1867 near the coast of Anglesey, Wales, after colliding with another vessel in fog. The wreck resulted in the loss of several crew members and a significant cargo of coal; it is now a protected historic site and an important example of mid-Victorian maritime technology in Welsh waters.
The historic-place record does not grant public access. Check current conditions and ownership before entering land or a building.
