Glenlary holds a rectangular moated platform fifty-six metres long, marked on nineteenth-century maps as a raised scarp and still faint in modern soil. Westropp counted it among two straight-sided forts in the valley, suggesting deliberate defence rather than accidental earthwork. The farm track now cuts through its southern edge, reducing ancient boundary to a broken line beneath pasture.

In pasture, 140m S of townland boundary with Mitchellstowndown West, a group of barrows (LI049-225001/003-) lie 140m to the E. Depicted on the 1840 ed. OSi 6-inch map as a raised rectangular-shaped area defined by a scarp. Shown on the 1897 ed. OSi 25-inch map as a raised rectangular-shaped platform (dims. c. 56m NW-SE x 45m NE-SW) defined by a scarp. Described by Westropp (1916, 22) as one of two straight-sided forts in Glenlara.
