Situated on high ground with excellent views to W and NW. A raised subrectangular enclosure (dims. 30m E-W, 23m N-S) defined by a bank (ext. H c. 1m, int. H c. 0.2m) at N, elsewhere by a scarp. No evidence of fosse or original entrance. E quadrant of site has been damaged by quarrying. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Laois' (Dublin Stationery Office, 1995) compiled by P. David Sweetman, Olive Alcock and Bernie Moran.
