The following description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Carlow' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1993). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.

Rectangular area (90m NNW-SSE, 40m WSW-ENE) surrounded by broad fosse (Wth 9m). Southern half is also enclosed by banks on either side of fosse and traces of a bank cutting interior in two. Entrance in SW side near W corner. Leat at S corner. Second possible leat close to N corner.
