What is recorded here

Some 700m NE of the great mound at Newgrange (ME019-045----) is a mound , c. 22m in diam. and 4m high, surrounded by a kerb 31m in diam. Listed as possible passage-tomb (Herity 1974, 251) (O'Kelly 1978, 59). The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Meath' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1987). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of upload/revision: 10 July 2007
Neolithic passage tomb, dating to the early Bronze Age (c. 3200–2500 BCE), associated with the Boyne Valley burial complex. Its location near Newgrange suggests it was part of a ritual landscape of significant ceremonial and funerary importance.
