Southern end of N-S gorge (Barnacleeve Gap) across lower E slopes of Mt. Gabriel. Large infilled working driven 248° into base of E-facing rockface. Waterlogged interior with probable peat deposit; not excavated. Probed length 3m plus; entrance (Wth 5.2m; H 1.8m). No extant spoil dumps; may have been removed when bottom of gorge functioned as main route across mountain, before building of upper road in 1846.
