Beltra is a burial mound on the west side of Lacken Strand where the sea keeps pulling away its seaward face to reveal layers of limpet shells, cattle and sheep bones, and old charcoal. The mound is not empty or inert; it is a crowded archive of meals, fires and lives repeated across time. Each storm does not destroy the place, but edits it, removing one layer and showing the one beneath.

In a burial mound (MA008-002001-) on the W side of Lacken Strand. Midden material, in the form of concentrations of shells (limpets), animal bones (cattle, sheep, pig), charcoal fragments and burnt material, has been noted at several different levels within the eroding section face on the seaward side of the mound.
