The following description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Carlow' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1993). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.

Circular area (diam. 5m) of slag and ceramic fragments of inderterminate type (possibly crucible parts), exposed in trackway close to summit of high hill (c. 950 ft). Hut site c. 50m to NE (CW004-043----). Second smaller circular (CW004-052----) area with slag and small amount of charcoal, about 50m S of downhill from larger area of activity.
