In rolling agricultural landscape on a gentle N-facing slope. Excavated in 2007 in advance of the N9/N10 Kilcullen to Waterford road improvement scheme (Licence no. E3456). A bowl furnace comprising a deep, roughly circular pit containing a considerable amount of slag concentrated on the rim. The furnace appeared to have filled up further with each use. A number of other pits across the excavated area produced slag and other metalworking debris. A cereal-drying kiln (KK023-145---) was excavated c. 20m to the SE.
