Donnchadh Mac Fine and Elizabeth Stepheson died in 1631, leaving their names cut in relief above a recess in the chancel wall of Muckross abbey. The stone still stands nineteen inches tall, asking passersby to pray for two people whose lives have faded into shadow. It is easy to imagine them walking these Kerry fields, loving each other, and trusting that stone would outlive their breath.

Over a recess in the N wall of the chancel of the church of Muckross abbey (KE066-081001-). This is a 17th-century memorial stone (H 19ins; L 36ins). It is inscribed in relief as follows: 'ORATE PRO DONA LDO MAC FINE ET ELIZAB ETHA STEPHESO ANO DN 1631. Q.S.H.F.F.
