St. Robert's Well in Melrose is associated with St. Robert of Knaresborough, a 12th-century hermit and holy figure venerated in northern England and southern Scotland. The well was traditionally visited for its healing properties, particularly for skin ailments and general well-being, and may have been a site of pilgrimage during the medieval period.
