Megalithic tombs in this region date to the Neolithic or Bronze Age and remain valuable archaeological evidence even when buried or obscured. Tulla is recorded in County Clare, Ireland, but the supplied details do not identify a visible tomb, exact location or preserved structure. According to Westropp (1902-04, 116-17), ‘Lewis’s Topographical Dictionary…mentions another [dolmen] lying on the hill of Tulla, of which I can find no trace, and which is not on the maps, though this, of course, disproves nothing’. In his account, Lewis (1837, vol. 2, 650) actually states, ‘On the hill of Tulla are the remains of an ancient abbey, and of a druidical altar’. Not visible at ground level. Not known of locally.
