What is recorded here
Doogort West and keel East hold an unclassified megolithic tomb, meaning the stones exist but their precise structure and age remain unknown. The place belongs to County Mayo, Ireland, where megalithic monuments often mark burial, boundary or ceremony long before written records. The missing description does not reduce the stones; it refuses a hurried judgement about them.
The Archaeological Survey of Ireland (ASI) is in the process of providing information on all monuments on The Historic Environment Viewer (HEV).
