Megalithic structure in Molum

This potential monument was described by James Fogarty in his manuscript account of antiquities compiled in 1851‒2 as ‘the great Leaba feina’ known as ‘Coran’s Tomb’, which stood in the kitchen garden of a house. It was composed of ‘huge-shaped sandstones from 10 cwt to 2 tons weight’ and had been destroyed c. 1845 (1851-2, 117, 132). A search of the townland was undertaken in 1989 but there was no local knowledge of its existence and no trace of it was found. The location of this monument within Molum townland is unknown.
