Ballynaboley in County Kilkenny once held a megalithic structure that James Fogarty recorded as destroyed before he compiled his manuscript in 1851-2. The place escapes identification because even its townland location has vanished from memory. What remained was a warning about how quickly human making can be erased.

In his manuscript account of antiquities compiled in 1851-2, James Fogarty states that ‘another Cromleac or Leaba feina stood lately in the lands of Ballynaboolie, but lately destroyed.’ (1851‒2, 117). There is no other known reference to this possible monument and its exact nature is uncertain. The location of this monument within Ballynaboley townland is unknown.
