Maolán

Islet

What is recorded here

Maolán Buí rises to 973 metres in the MacGillycuddy's Reeks, wearing a yellow name yet exposing a narrow bone-like spur that cuts toward the Hag's Glen. The ridge feels less like a mountain peak than a knife edge laid across the sky, inviting walkers to balance themselves above a sudden drop. It remains one of Ireland's highest and most unusual landmarks, where grandeur and danger share the same thin line.
Maolán is recorded as a islet in County Kerry. Its open map record supplies this location and any linked names or public references.
