Cork stone chambers hid inside a ringfort bank, perhaps holding treasure, seeds or fear. People crawled through narrow lintels before collapse closed part of the way. The buried passage still asks whether knowledge, not gold, was being protected.

In NW quadrant of ringfort (CO040-03301-). Opening reveals stone-lined lintelled passage (Wth 0.98m; H 0.7m) extending NNW, visible for distance of c. 3m. Three depressions inside bank to NW probably indicate Man-made underground passage collapse. According to local information, at least two stone-lined chambers, roofed with lintels, were explored in the past.
