Man-made underground passage in Tawin West

Man-made underground passage

What is recorded here

West of the visible mound inside the Tawin West rath, a hidden chamber waited beneath a second mound of earth and stone. People built that passage deliberately, then buried its entrance rather than decorate it. The chamber no longer answers knocks, yet it still shapes the field because human hands once bent the land around secret depth.
Within the rath (GA102-038----). According to Holt (1912, 227) there was another mound to the W of the mound of earth and stone which is visible in the interior. It apparently masked the entrance to a Man-made underground passage. No visible surface trace of it survives and no trace of the Man-made underground passage was noted.
