Man-made underground passage in Shanaway Middle

Discovered 1962, at E side roadway atop hill (NMI). Two rectangular and one hemispherical earth-cut chambers arranged in semi-circular pattern, joined by creepways. Access through collapsed roof chamber 1; original entrance chamber 3. Chamber 1: L 2.75m; Wth 1.5m; H 0.99m. Chamber 2: L 3.66m; Wth1.3m; H 0.76m. Chamber 3: diam. 2.44m; H 1.22m (McCarthy 1977, 310). Small hole now marks location; chambers inaccessible.
