Man-made underground passage

What is recorded here

No hidden chamber exists beneath Poulcaragharush, only a shallow stone-cut slot and a mysterious crater. The false label wastes breath, while the real anomaly waits for explanation.
In the NW interior of Poulcaragharush cashel (CL009-042002-) S of an accumulation of cairn material. A sunken passage (visible L 2m; Wth 1.15m) oriented NNE-SSW and filled with loose stone. Corbels are visible on the E side. There is a crater-like depression (diam. 1.4m) in the cairn, 2m to the N of the sunken passage. However, there is no evidence of a Man-made underground passage chamber here. Compiled by: Mary Tunney and Conn Herriott Date of upload: 24 January 2022
