What is recorded here

Nursetown Beg holds a closed underground passage in steep pasture, recorded by Bowman in 1934 and erased from later memory. It belonged to J. Fleming’s land, yet no fort or marker remains to explain why people dug beneath that slope. The earth swallowed the tunnel, but the angle of the ground still points toward what vanished.

In pasture, on steep NE-facing slope. Bowman (1934, 564) recorded a Man-made underground passage 'in J. Fleming's. This is now closed up. There is no sign of a fort near it'.
