Maulrour is a man-made underground passage hidden beneath a central ringfort in County Cork, Ireland. The entrance appears as a modest hole in the fort floor, yet it marks a deliberate choice to build downward instead of upward. People may have stored grain, hidden treasure or simply watched the rain through darkness. The passage remains inaccessible, preserving the mystery of the hands that dug it and the lives that moved through shadow below the fort.
