The ITA recorded a Man-made underground passage situated in woodland at this location (1943, Knockane). The field in which it occurs is known as the 'Engine Field', named after a saw-mill which ceased operations in the 1960s. The field is now heavily overgrown with scrub, and the entrance to the Man-made underground passage could not be located. It was described as a lintelled chamber, about 4 feet (1.22m) square with 'sides built of fairly large stones', and two blocked passages extending from its E side (local information).
