Man-made underground passage in Lissyviggeen

Man-made underground passage

What is recorded here

In NW corner of a field, immediately to N of the N22 road. The Man-made underground passage is stone-built and consists of two chambers linked by a slightly bowed flagstone-capped creepway (c. L 4m; Wth 1m). Two of the five flagstones have collapsed. The NW chamber (diam. c. 1.3m; H 1.5m) is the smaller of the two and the SE chamber (diam. c. 3m; H 1.7m) is not accessible via the lintelled rectangular creep hole due to the build up of ground level.
