What is recorded here
Blocked now, but once open, the passage lay hidden inside a rath in Lisduff, marked only by a low sod-covered rise and two stones that may have bridged its roof. A faint line stretches west-southwest across the grass, perhaps tracing the route people walked beneath the earth. Whether they carried messages, hid from storms, or simply shortened a journey remains unknown, yet the stones still flank the gap like guards at a forgotten door.
Located in a rath (MA112-045----). According to local information, a low sod-covered rise (diam. c. 1m), in the W half of the rath interior, marks the location of a blocked up Man-made underground passage. In the past, a gap or cavity was visible here, flanked by two stones, possibly in situ roofing lintels. An ephemeral linear feature, extending to WSW is visible immediately to W of the rise; it may indicated the line of the Man-made underground passage.
