Man-made underground passage in Liscottle

In a rath (MA071-034----). A collapsed Man-made underground passage passage or chamber is evident as a grassed-over, subrectangular depression (11.4m NNE–SSW; 4.5m WNW–ESE; D 0.7m) extending on a roughly NE−SW axis through the W half of the rath interior. A large stone is evident at the S end of the depression. A lintelled opening (Wth 0.57m; H 0.4m) in the N end of the depression reveals an intact dry-stone passage (Wth c. 1m; H c. 0.7m) with lintel roofing. The walls are constructed of rough, random rubble, and are slightly corbelled towards the top to support the roof slabs. The passage floor is earthen and is strewn with loose stones. The passage extends on a slight curve for c. 6.6m to the NW towards the rath scarp, where another lintelled opening, now blocked, is visible in the scarp.
