Knocknacally holds a man-made underground passage tied to a ringfort with chambers, though its exact location has slipped from modern sight. Fitzgerald wrote of the chambers in 1858, suggesting people built the place deliberately rather than leaving it to chance. The soil may still cover a doorway, a stair or a narrow chamber where firelight once moved. Forgetting the address does not erase the shape of the building or the hands that made it.
